I'm so stupid!!!!!

Sunday, February 01, 2009

What was I thinking yesterday? I wanted to wear a ring my husband had given me for Valentines day last year. I knew it was too big since I've lost weight. But I put it on anyway. We went to Mankato shopping and I had it on all day. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and bought our groceries. I knew it was on throughout the store, but when I got to the car, guess what. It was gone. I looked all through the car and under the seats. I called the store and told them I lost it there, so they were going to watch for it when they swept. But no call. I went back there this morning and looked where we parked, thinking it fell off as I was moving things around in the car to make room for groceries. The store wasn't open, so I couldn't go in and check the aisles. I'll call there again tomorrow and explain the story again, but I'm afraid it won't be found. Why didn't I leave it in my jewelry box.

On one hand, it was sad you lost the ring. On the other hand, you lost it because of all the weight you lost. So lost ring, but a healthier you.... we all should have that problem of all our rings falling off! Remember to look on the good side of everything that happens. And maybe the ring made some very sad person's day turn around somehow when it was found.
I really think this is how life works, we lose something to help some other person who really needs encouragement or help. Just my take on it. My hubby years ago helped someone along side the road change their tire, and the road money (he is a truck driver) fell out of his shirt pocket...$300....... I'd like to think someone found it that needed rent money or something.

I am so sorry for your loss.
One time when we had a square dance at our local community bulding a visitor lost her ring.

She called and told me about it the next morning and I went up and searched the building and then went outside where she had parked and ran my fingers through the grass and there it was.

I called her and she was so thrilled since it was a diamond that had been passed down from family that had passed away.

I was as excited as she was I think.

My Dh passed away this past Dec. 17th and I am almost scared to wear my rings because I don't want to lose them but I know it happens.

I so wish you could have found yours. emoticon

I feel your pain. I did recover the ring I lost and after that I wore it on a chain so I could wear it and not lose it.

I am sad when things like this happen! I had a birthstone ring my parents gave me when I was a teenager and I lost it while getting my senior pictures taken. To this day I miss that ring and wonder what happened to it. I called around and searched for ages. I hope that it's somewhere in my "stuff," but I highly, highly doubt it......

It is so sad when we lose anything with precious memories. I do hope you find it again. Maybe it's time to re-size some other jewelery as well.
