Whoa ho ho.... ahi tuna, sesame seed, and teriyaki is a great marriage

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Dang I just found a new love- sesame seeds! Phew! I just whipped up some Ahi Tuna with a sesame seed crust and a teriyaki sesame seed reduction over it with some broccoli slaw on the side and i am so stinkin proud of how delish it was! I never use measuring tools when i'm cooking dinner, but here's approximates and all the ingredients

Ahi Tuna- drizzle with teriyaki sauce and cover with sesame seeds, fresh ground pepper and salt. Grill in grill pan 3-4 minutes each side until desired doneness (I did a little less because i really like it super rare)

Sauce-
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1/2 tsp sesame seeds
1/2 tsp fresh chopped garlic
1/2 tsp fresh ginger
2 dashes light soy sauce
1 tsp lemon juice

bring to boil in small saucepan until thick. Pour over Ahi Tuna.

Teriyaki Broccoli Slaw

broccoli slaw bag
apple cider vinegar
olive oil
pepper
salt
teriyaki sauce
sesame seeds

Yeah i just kinda threw everything together and the only thing i measured was the olive oil so I knew how many points to count. the teriyaki sauce was just a few splashes.

So- yum oh! gonna have to remember this one...
