One of the things I'm realizing as I tackle new endeavors such as cross country skiing and going hands free on the treadmill is that my sense of balance is TERRIBLE! I've always been a klutz, but I thought after losing all the weight I've lost that balance wouldn't be a problem. WRONG!
Today on my 'mill hands free again I found myself not as able to get "lost" in my music as usual as I realized my attention was riveted on my feet and making sure I don't wander off the tread!
I suppose as I continue these efforts it will become more natural with less attention to detail, but in the meantime I miss communing with my tunes and closing my eyes, nodding my head back and forth as I boogie. So that's when I reach for the rails at times to allow myself that indulgence.
I hear there are exercises designed to improve balance...must check 'em out!
