I have been feeling frustrated the past few weeks about maintaining healthy food/exercise routines. Sometimes it just seems like something always comes along to knock me off the horse--illness, holidays, travel, some external event, my cycles, stress, whatever. We took a week-long road trip right after the holidays, bought a house (so lots of paperwork now we're in contract), got back and we all got really sick for 2 weeks, things are just now starting to feel a little "normal" again. I put on 5 lbs and am feeling frustrated. I don't feel I have a very good "center" yet when it comes to food and fitness. I guess it takes time to build healthy habits and the change is going to be slow. I just really want it this time and am putting a lot more attention on it than I have before.
