I haven't updated this page or been too active on the boards because my laptop that is my life for all things kid related and school (job) related is dead. I've been using our family computer downstairs, but it is really really slow and basically on its last legs. This laptop is less than a year old. I bought it from Circuit City, and that's where it went to be repaired. I took it in on 1/10, and they evaluated it. I called them on the next Monday, and they told me it had a "defective hard drive." It needed to go out to their service center in Dallas, and it's going to take a good 4 weeks to get done. Great. I just started student teaching and I *NEED* it. Fast forward four days later. I find out they are totally going out of business. I go and try to get my data card back (they saved "most" of it), and can't even get in the parking lot it is so crowded for the "going out of business sale." They basically told me tough luck. I had ordered a power cord from them in October before this whole hard drive mess, and I didn't get it until yesterday due to their incompetence. I mention that I'm sitting here failing my class. Due to their track record with the power cord order, I'm honestly afraid I'm never going to see the laptop again. He made fun of me, and told me to call some number in Dallas.
I call the number. Just leave a message after the beep. Call and try to get a live person and you are on hold for an eternity (was on hold for 20 minutes and didn't get anyone). I was told they are shutting down their customer service as well. So, that's that. My cell phone also died this week. I just want a piece of technology in my life to function correctly.
The diet at least is functioning correctly! Wahoo for that...I've lost TEN pounds in two weeks! I've had to drop the bootcamp as I can't watch the videos on this computer, though. :( I don't know what to do. I'm still doing SB and I'm still getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, though.
I started student teaching last week. This is going to be tricky. I need to have things planned. I also cannot feasibly snack on stuff during the day too well due to lack of time. I usually at least try and have something in the car for after school on my way home. Water is also an issue. I bought a water bottle the other day so hopefully I'll be able to have it in the classroom with me. Trying to get to a bathroom, that's going to be a problem. Hopefully things will work.
I'm technically done with phase one now, and am hesitant about moving into phase two. I think I'm going to add a fruit in the afternoon and see how it goes from there. Sorry for the long blog. I'm frustrated beyond recognition about the laptop and the cell phone.
