I find it very difficult to exercise! I just can't motivate myself to get up and move. Where I live it's not easy to get to a fitness center or an exercise class, so I have to do it on my own. And that's just not working.
I think you have some great advice here already. exercise comes in MANY forms. It does not have to be at the gym. Find something YOU think is fun and you will be more willing to stick with it. Good luck!
Few suggestions, hoping that it will help you: - Try exercise DVDs. I have dancing, pilates and medicine ball exercise. I bought them from www.collagevideo.com. It is a great web and you can view them before purchasing. - Music. Just put some of your favourite music up and start dancing. This is a good calory burner + stress relief! - if finances allow, invest in a small stepper or home bicycle. Watch a movie and just step away! You don't need a gym. We are here for you because we know YOU CAN DO IT!
I'm the same way! I hate to sweat or do anything strenuous, and I live at least 20 miles from the nearest gym. I also consider myself a little awkward so the "dance moves" don't do it for me either. That's why I was so excited when I tried a walking workout DVD from Leslie Sansone. It's EASY, but it's still a good workout...I highly recommend her stuff!!! You can do a mile in about 15 minutes in the space of your living room.
When any kind of exercise is overwhelming for me, sometimes I'll put on some music and just dance for one song. It lasts about 3-4 minutes and then if I still feel like I'd rather poke my eyes out than keep moving, I try again later. :) Usually I find once I'm up and enjoying the music, I can at least replay the song or hear another. It is a small step, but it is a step!!!
