Stevia And Other Herbs

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

I just ran across this plant in one of my new seed catalogs. You can grow
it in pots so you have access to it all year. The plant grows up to 3' tall.
The leaves can be used fresh or dry for later use.
If you prefer to buy Stevia in ready to use form look for it in grocery and
health food stores.
I plan to order a couple of the plants. I like to use plants , herbs, and
vegetables in their most natural forms. I grow mint and use the leaves to make tea.
Mint is both anti oxidant and anti inflammatory.
A tea made from parsley acts as a diuretic and helps relieve fluid re-
tention.
Garlic acts as a natural anti-biotic.
.Update: I never did get my Stevia plant but I do use it for my only artificial sweetener.
I have tried Sweet N Low, and many of the other sweeteners but I always gained weight when I was using them. I also no longer drink diet drinks for the same reason.

@Hopeful-I definately like Stevia better than Splenda or Truvia.

My favorite natural remedy is honey on a cut or burn. It helps it heal and fights infection! Yay!

I would like to know more about Stevia. Is it what they use in that new sweetner Truvia? I wonder which is better, Stevia or Splenda? You've peeked my interest, I guess I'll have to look into it now.
