I've been such a slacker with my eating and exercising habits that I ended up gaining all of the weight I lost before the wedding back in May. So, to help me kick start 2009, I decided to do my own version of Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred challenge. I want the next 30 days to help me establish a habit of eating well and doing daily exercise. This will help me lose weight and get healthier in general (that's the plan at least).
For some background, I started counting me calories exactly one week ago. The Sparkpeople guideline suggests that I need to stay within the 1200 - 1550 calorie range for me to lose the weight I want by my one year anniversary. I have been doing well so far and lost 2 pounds already. It was super tough this weekend when I had no plans and sat around the apartment all day. I now realize that I snack a lot when I am bored, so I will do my best to avoid this in the future.
The second part of my 30 Day Shred challenge is to actually do exercise every day. I bought the Jillian Michaels DVD last week and got off on a rocky start. I did Level 1 last Tuesday and then again this past Saturday. Obviously I wasn't doing exercise every day, so I re-started my day count.
Yesterday was Day 1 of daily exercise and I am sore as I don't know what. Jillian Michaels' DVD is amazing and I appreciate the fact that it goes by quickly. Please help me stay motivated since I have 29 more days to go to make this a habit!
