For years, my spouse has ignored portion control, food choices and nutritional issues. I teach nutrition at a local college. Over time, our meal item selections have improved. To my delight, my husband has reduced his number of servings, reduced his frequency of snacking, improved his choice of snacks, looks forward to fruit with each meal and goes to the gym or walks daily.
The result of this is that I am paying even closer attention to my choices. I'm actively using the SparkPeople food diary and fitness diary, blogging with my sisters for increased motivation and feeling better than I have in months.
I have to admit that his actions have positively impacted me and I'm proud to have him as a life partner. By choosing a reasonable, balanced nutritionally sound lifestyle we have much to look forward to.
