I have a bad shoulder and the Jumping Jacks brought back the pain. I didn't want anyone worried about me needlessly. But I am finally able to move the arm so much more freely and just cannot see chancing injury.

I had wondered if I could do Jumping Jacks - now I know. Who would have thought the jumping would be ok but not the arm movements?!

Add to that all the confusion of which steps and when and I just got overwhelmed. Then I took a peek at today's video and I have enough trouble on both legs, really afraid of injuring my knee if I do the exercise on one leg. I can barely complete the set as it is and I do the Wall Squats with Ball.

I do feel like a coward and a sissy but I cannot afford to get hurt - I have 2 old men counting on me to be their aides, my dad and DH. 85 and 87 respectively.

But I am going to peek at and try every video. I am in the last leg of my journey and need to get the weight moving again. I am stuck in 142-ville.

The good news is how many people tell me "you are there" when I tell them I am getting closer to my goal. It feels good but I still have a mirror and I know how to use it.

Don't forget to stretch before and after to avoid injuries. Coach Nicole always mentions that if you're not confortable with one exercice, you can go back to the marching stance!

I had to modify the jumping jack as I can't really do it as much as I would -not because of my health condition, but because of my neighbours living under me! emoticon

Congrats for the Walk Slim Fast Start 3 Fast Miles!

    linda,
you are being responsible for your body, not a sissy. that sense of responsibility has gotten you this far and it's quite reasonable to trust your own knowledge of your body. :)

I don't think I need to tell you that nothing is worth injuring yourself. Just do what you can and that should work. The boot camp doesn't depend on doing everything exactly and perfectly. Modify, modify, modify. For the jumping jacks, if the jumping doesn't bother you, why not just do them without the arm movements? That would get you a lot of the benefit without the pain.

You go!

The second video was very hard for me as well. The first one, i modified the jumping jacks so i didn't lift my shoulders as high as i have tendonitis in my left one.

I could barely squat down on the one leg but i tried it.

I am so proud of how far you have come and I know that you are so motivated that you will overcome this slight pause at 142ville. Don't stress it. You are healthier than you have been in a long time and it is important to know what we can do. I love that you are trying each video and doing what you can do. It is so motivating to know that it is the fact that we are not giving up that makes us move forward.

I hope your day is blessed as you take care of your dad and DH.

sending you big hugs
Amber

You know your body better than anybody else. You know when you can push through something... and you know when that pushing it will lead to injury. Most people would give up all together... but you keep trying. I am glad you know your limitations... without throwing in the towel completely... a definite sign of an up and coming success story!

    Linda,
It is great that you will still be in the cheering section. Have you tried the Leslie Sansone walking tapes. I have the walk away your waist complete with belt and I love it.
Take care of yourself! And you do look great but I know what you are saying about the mirror.

Marty
