Thinking back on 2008 I'm amazed at what I have accomplished:
I lost 60 pounds!
I started exercising 6 days a week - and I enjoy it! (And I miss it when I don't do it)
I feel better than I have in years.
People ask me for advice.
I have much more self confidence - and started a new job because of it.
I've learned how to eat healthy foods and that I don't miss junk food at all.
I can go out to dinner and make healthy choices - and still enjoy myself.
My husband and sons are proud of me.
I went parasailing for the first time!
I enjoy hiking, walking, biking, etc. with my family (without huffing and puffing).
My doctor shook my hand and congratulated me on what I have done. She even joked that she wants to use me as her poster child!
I enjoy shopping for clothes again.
I've made many new friends on Spark People - I know I'm not alone in this!
I have been able to control diabetes through diet and exercise.
The list goes on and on...... (and everything is thanks to SparkPeople!)
Lose 20-30 pounds to reach my weight loss goal.
Keep diabetes under control without medication.
Reduce (or even get rid of completely) blood pressure medications.
Try a new activity - snowshoeing comes to mind.....
Continue with SparkPeople and log food and exercise daily.
Try 1 or 2 new exercises.
Try 1 new SP recipe each week.
I have confidence that I can achieve the goals I have set for 2009! What an awesome feeling!!!
