I had to stop exercising, except for stretching, for about a month, because the pain in my back and hip had increased so dramatically. Anything I did made it worse. After going for a few years with what a doctor told me was a pinched sciatic nerve, I found out a week ago that the vertebrae in my lower spine have collapsed and that's what's been causing the pain.
He put me on a week of anti-inflammatory meds and it is much better. SOOOO yesterday I decide to do a one mile "Walk Off The Weight"... Yeah, probably not the best idea. I'm back at square one, pain-wise.
So now my question is...is actual walking as stressful on the back as doing that DVD? I hate to walk in my neighborhood, but if it's what I have to do to lose any more weight....guess I'll have to?
