Holiday Temptations

This is the time of year where temptation follows us all around like cats chase mice! LOL! I have dodged some major bullets this year and I am sooo glad. The hardest time is coming up from Christmas to New Years. I depend on my work schedule to keep my eating in check but we have xmas eve through the second of January off and go back to work on the fifth. This will be a tough stretch but I am very happy that I have the Carlsbad Half Marathon training to keep me focused. I don't want to have lug more weight around on those long runs than is absolutely necessary.

This is my focus for the that week and a half. Is it worth it? Small indulgences here and there are fine but I tend to go overboard when I don't have a set schedule and temptation is abundant. I love the saying that failing to plan is planning to fail. In this case it is true. I am formulating my plan and know that if I need support, I have many sparks just a post or email away!!

    I love your saying "failing to plan is planning to fail". So true in my eyes. I have been getting through this rough time (for eating or not eating is more like it) by writing up a menu and prepacking my lunch box daily. I have enough healthy snacks to turn to when the timing gets difficult. I also put my focus on the gym..burning at least 1/2 of what I put in my body. So if I am tired..I know that I shouldn't put a lot in..or else I am going to be at the gym all night possibly. eek!

    Good for you, Leah! You are so inspiring with all of your working out. I'm looking for a 5k or something I can work toward in the spring. A 1/2 marathon is not happening yet, but who knows in the future.
