A year already ?!

I can't believe it has been a year this Thanksgiving that I had a houseful of people.

My DD and her DH in from Wash. State... My "adopted" daughter in from NJ and my son........ all home for the holiday......

This year DD and her DH spend the holiday w/his parents in TX.... my son now lives in Fl and couldn't afford to come home and my "adopted" DD is with her parents in SC.

This month my kid sister will be having major surgery and I will have her 15 year old DD live with us ( for a month )..... she has Asperger's......... A form of Autism..... and my sisters 12 year old son will live with our brother.

None of us are young. Sister is an "older" mom with an ex who is a real jerk......... but aren't they all??

I'm thankful my DH is so wonderful, and is being good enough to let my niece stay with us. I shouldn't say "let" .... She'd stay with us with or without his ok !!!!

My routine will be all up in the air during this month.

I was going to stop my walking after work but I will now take my niece with me.

I was also going to use this month as an excuse not to stick to my good eating habits but.... nope........ won't do that to myself either.

I've got to stay strong......... even though I don't want to............ am tired of being the strong one........... Just because my name of Geraldine means " arrow of strength" doesn't mean I'm strong. .......... But I guess we do what we have to do, when we have to do it. ( sigh )

Lunch time......... going for my afternoon walk.

Just a note for handling the niece. I am a retired 4th grade teacher. Just try not to back her into a corner. She probably will always need some breathing room. She may really enjoy walking with you if you make it her idea. emoticon
