8 Miler Under My Belt

Saturday, November 29, 2008

I had a wonderful run this morning. It totalled about 8 miles and I ran about 6 miles with Coffeerun (Jessica) and Cellia6191 (Marcy). I am enjoying the runs and having others to go with makes it that much more enjoyable. We ran in Mission Bay Park by Belmont Park at 6:30am. It was great to get out and get moving so early. By the time I finished up, it was getting busy and I appreciated the quiet of the morning. I am pretty sore but I am taking care of myself.

This process has been so insightful. Learning that I can overcome self-imposed barriers and mental blocks. That I can enjoy long distances and my body is completely capable. Learning that I have what it takes to do anything I put my mind to. Running for 6 miles without stopping is possible...and even further with proper training. I CAN DO THIS!!!

Wow! Just amazing. I don't think I'll be running anytime soon, but it's very inspiring to see how well you are doing. Take care!
