Thanksgiving Tuesday

Today we had our Thanksgiving. We made turkey, homemade stuffing/dressing, whole berry cranberry sauce, whole kernel corn, candied yams, and apple sauce, plus Dad and my S-M had gravy and my S-M and I had stuffed mushrooms. Then a while later there was pumpkin pie, apple pie, ice cream and whipped cream. And to drink we had eggnog and REAL apple cider (the pulpy, cloudy kind not the clear apple juice kind). I ate ALL day. Sugar-free and regular cookies when my sugar started to drop a few hours before dinner, and cereal for breakfast. I am afraid to track for today, but, I will do it anyway. Better to face 4000 calories and let go of the guilt than to wallow in self-hatred for eating so much. I guess it is a good thing we only eat this way once a year. Although, if we had it more often I'd probably eat less than I do on Thanksgiving. So...I think I will go track my food for today. Wish me luck that I didn't eat over 5000 calories!

    Last year I tracked my Thanksgiving meal (we eat about 2 P.M. at the Navy Mess Hall) and I had 800 calories. I expect this year to do as well. Last year I lost 2# between Halloween and New Year's Day, and I know I will do better this time. I was happy with 2# last year, but I've come so much now that I'm not even excited about "pigging out". emoticon

So glad you are HONEST with yourself and tracking. That is what matters Hon.
