Why I Want to Lose Weight and Maintain My Success

(So I started the book 100 Days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle. I've decided to post some of the activities as blog entries.)

This is why I'm doing the 100 Days Program, and why I'm absolutely sticking with my plan:

* Have healthy babies! Be in the best shape possible before trying to conceive

* Grow old with my husband

* Be a good example to my kids and be here for them as long as possible

* Have more energy

* Not be in pain

* Be healthier! Lower my blood pressure. Do what is in my power to reduce my risk of diabetes, cancer, and other disease.

* Be able to shop anywhere and to look cute in clothes that fit

* Feel strong and powerful and fit

* Be the athletic outdoorsy woman that I know is inside me

* Enjoy life more

* Be comfortable in my own skin. Gain more confidence in myself

* Let go of the old me that I don't like and am ashamed of

* Be more attractive to my husband (although he says I couldn't possible be! What a darling!) and feel sexy

* Feel relaxed and let go of stress

* Not be ashamed to wear a swimsuit in public

Already I've looked at this list about 20 times since yesterday. I need to remind myself of my motivation for changing my life. I've always heard it was a good tool, but I've never stuck with it. I may have created a list with reasons in the past, but I didn't hold onto it longer than a day. I'm going to make a real effort to review this daily for at least the next couple weeks. I have a copy on my iPod so I can glance at it anytime. I hope that this will help me keep the focus that I find difficult when I'm busy with other things in my life.

    I've been meaning to get back to you regarding your list since way back when you wrote it (crazy / busy times, ya know?).

It is just uncanny how much I can identify with EVERYTHING (short of "Have healthy babies" on your was like somebody wrote MY list!

Thx for pulling together such important goals!

    Great list. I almost want to steal it. I feel the same way about most of it. Having energy to do things is a big reason that I want to be fit.

    That is a GREAT list shannon - I see you in every one of them and accomlishing it by leaps and bounds. Just keep remembering that looooong bike ride this past summer - you can do it!! I think our minds are our biggest hurdle to our success - we spend too time THINKING and not enough time just DOING!! You are such and inspiration - thank you for the blog!!
