Happy New Year!

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

It's Rosh Hashana today, which is the Jewish new year. I went to my parents' temple last night, but really didn't want to go today (I am not religious but they are). Today's service starts in two minutes, and I'm on the couch in my sweaty workout clothes, so I guess I'm officially not going. :)

No school today, so I slept in until 9 a.m. That's actually the latest I've slept in in a long time. When I woke up, I was at 141.8!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy smokes that's a big loss. I am tingly close to the 130s. I looooooove the 130s. I am so excited to almost be there!!! If I keep losing a pound per week I will be at 139 on October 21, three weeks from now. That means I will be quite skinny (dare I say?!?!) by Halloween, which will be so much fun for dressing up. And if I continue to lose a pound per week after that, I will be at my goal (?!?!?) of 130 on December 23, which is only four days after my 31st birthday and could even.......OMG.......be in the 120s for New Years (the non-Jewish kind). Probably the last time I weighed in the 120s I was in middle school. I don't honestly remember EVER being in the 120s. Maybe it was even elementary school. (I was the tallest kid in my class in 5th grade at 5'2 1/2".)

OK, I am getting waaaaaay ahead of myself here, and I promise not to be disappointed if my actual weight loss isn't as speedy as that. But how very exciting!!

So I did go to Body Combat this morning. It was a small crowd, which I like. The instructor was one of those super-fit platinum blonde cropped haircut types in camouflage pants. She was great! I just get annoyed at how in Body Combat they face you so I get all confused about whether to kick and punch with my right leg/arm or my left because it looks all in reverse of the instructor. There's this insanely energetic woman who goes to some of my classes (she screams out "YEEEAAHHH!!!" a lot) so I just watched her and used the arms and legs she was using.

As you can probably tell from my exclamation points, I am feeling extremely energetic right now. I am going to go out for a run soon - maybe I'll eat lunch first. I'd like to figure out a fun place to go running that I haven't tried before... I'm thinking maybe I'll drive over to Wellesley (a very cute, very wealthy town nearby where Wellesley College is) and run around there. I left my brother a voicemail asking if he wants to go biking today, but haven't heard back from him and he's probably at temple with my parents.

What a gift this is, having no work on a Tuesday!!!!!!!!

I'm 5'6". When I was in the 130s (summer 2007) I was pretty skinny on top, but not so much on my lower half..

I teach CardioKick, which is my gym's version onf Body Combat. We have changed it so that the instructor faces the mirror WITH the participants... all I can say is WOW, does it make teaching SO MUCH EASIER! Try saying right, but moving left!?!? emoticon Not an easy task when you are already oxygen deprived and sweating like a PIG! LOL

Congrats on the LOW weigh-in! I am like you and I LOVE to forcast my weight loss too! (I use this software called Weight Ware that actually forcasts it for me! I love it!) Eversince I hit 135 pounds (about) I have been finding it hard to loose 1 pound a week anymore... it's more like 0.5-0.7 per week now (which is still GREAT) but weight loss definitely slows down when your body gets closer to your ideal! But hey, DREAMING BIG never hurts, right???

Have a FABULOUS day off!
