Juice Fast Day 1

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Well, I know this is actually my third day and I'm blogging to catchup so there will be 3 posts for this day. I just want to keep them all separate for the sake of consistency.

My first day was kind of rough. I reallllyyyy was craving some Mein Fun (a delicious noodle dish from the chinese place. I mean its so light and delightfully good, ugh I wanted that so bad lol). I was trying to think of all kinds of excuses to eat.

I really didnt know what I was doing so I jus figured I'd choose some veggies to juice for lunch and juice fruits for breakfast. However I was running late for work so I ended up pouring it all together. (cantaloupe, cabbage, cucumber, pear, kiwi, carrot) I know that is a wierd combo lol. But in the end it ended up tasting like carrot juice.

After work I visited nutrition world. Their so nice there and offer great advice so I talked w/ them for over an hour. Got some advice and encouragement. And 3 herbal teas, Ginger to soothe my tummy, think O2 for my mental, and yerba mate so I can keep my energy up.

I believe that evening I did a tomato juice combo with tomatoes, celery, parsely, and cucumber. One thing I notice is cucumber produces a lot of juice so I think I will juice only half. I was too full to actually make a fruit juice that night.

So that day went okay aside from me craving food.

The quote for the day :)

"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly.
AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES." - Nike Ad

I remember seeing this commercial and loved this. Its even more compelling when you actually read it. I always tell my sister that we are the ones responsible for our well-being and future. Just because a door closes, or a person tries to discourage you, doesnt mean you should give up. Just like in football, there is a team of men trying to keep you from making it to the goal line but you gotta move and shake your way through. You may even get tackled a couple times but that doesnt mean the game is over. You just keep on going.
