I have met my breaking point

Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Hi everyone. I hope that everyone had a great Labor Day weekend...I did...I got Married on Friday! I am so happy, but at the same time I just wanted to cry myself to sleep Sunday night when I looked at the pictures.

The first one that stood out to me was the one that is entitled "Oh my gosh...I look like Roseanne Barr". That one made me laugh, I could hear her goofy laugh when i looked at that picture.

The one that got me was the one entitled "The point when I knew I had to change". I NEVER look at my whole body in a mirror because I don't like what I see. If I could draw who I feel I look like, noone would know me except myself, (I know that sounds crazy) even my face would be different. So, when I saw this picture, I was shocked at how big I have let myself become. I noticed that even my wrists are big, and i see them every day, but when I see the whole picture, WOW I am shocked!

I work at Wal-Mart and see people on a daily basis who can't shop without stoping to rest or they can't even walk and I think " I will never let myself get that big", but guess what...I am already there, I have just been dealt a healthier hand...for now...

I know the feeling. I was walking down the street one day and happened to say to my dad 'if I ever get that big, shoot me' while walking past someone who looked really overweight (yes I know, it's mean and I shouldn't have said it) and my dad had to tactfully point out I was already bigger than this person.... that was an eyeopener.

Hey, I think you look beautiful! Congratulation on your marriage. I know that we as women can be so hard on our personal appearance. I do that to myself all the time. Also you do not look like Roseanne!

You know, it was interesting to see you write that. I used tell myself all the time, "Well I know I'm big, but at least I'm not THAT big." But I am. And when I finally accepted that I wonder how many people used to look at me and think the same thing about themselves.

Congratulations on your marriage!!! And I happen to think you look absolutely beautiful!
