I love learning!

Felt really lousy yesterday and thought, "Oh, rats, I am really going to get sick, and I'll have to go to the doctor." (I hate going to the doctor...not doctors, just going there.)
So what did I do?
I comfort a child.
I read once that researchers discovered that when you put food in your mouth, you basically forget what is going on around you or in your head or in your body.
So it's a form of amnesia drug...but only when it's in your mouth and your chewing the food. It is a total, perfect distraction.

I can certainly attest to that yesterday.

Did I add 1 lb or 2 lbs? No, but I definitely wasn't in full Sparkpeople diet mode.

I am glad I learned this.

But, I'm even more glad that I feel good today.

(and I'm back on track and am enjoying every minute of it!)

It was worth it because I can empathize with people that are going through an illness or a bout of PMS or treatments of some order that their bodies feel miserable.

Oops. I'm glad you learned something from this experience. Keep looking toward the goal.

    Here's my new saying.

Comfort food - What you eat when you really aren't committed to losing the weight.

True comfort - Fitting into those goal-sized pants.

I keep going back to the fact that this journey is not a short-term diet/weight loss program, this journey is the rest of my life. So, that means that we'll all have days that are less than perfect, but, as you did, we need to learn from them and move on.

Isn't it a great feeling to be able to look at a less than perfect day and be able to just learn from it and move on, rather than use it as an excuse to continue making bad choices?

Sounds like you are on the right track to keep moving forward and reach all of your goals (including that August challenge!!!)

Hope your days ahead are brighter!
