Thank you, dear dog with the one upright ear and one down!
Because of your being slipped food on the sly by my mom, I will have to hit the Boardwalk with your four paws every clear night until the winter storms start.
I used to think people that walked it were exercise fanatics or worse. I would drive by and think to myself, "My, don't they have anything BETTER to do with their lives?"
Oh, it's wonderful to be wrong, isn't it?
Walking on Boardwalk along Lake Superior in the evening is as good as it gets this side of heaven. The air is slightly moist and cool off the Lake with sky pastels changing as you walk. The boats are heading in for the night off the bay, and the Aerial bridge is backlight by the western sky. The mileage goes by so quickly and vistas change with each turn. You feel as you could go on forever.
And Contessa did us proud...a shakecan*, treats, and 'leave it's' got her into the swing of things before we were halfway through the course.
This couldn't be exercise, could it?

For all you cat people, a shakecan is a empty pop can taped up with a few pennies in it. Give it rattle to discourage unwanted behavior. Then praise and treat.
