Power ON!!

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

So here in Chicago on Monday evening we had such torrential rains that it blew a transformer & we were without power until this afternoon. This has been a struggle for my kids because they have NEVER had to go without power for that length of time. Also, there is no other power company so that means they can charge what they want & say, "There will be no credits issued due to the Act of God." So where does that leave me, a woman whose workout gym is in home & DVDs? Abs, abs & junk food! Pray for me & that I can curb my anger whenever I speak to these people cause they set me back!! emoticon emoticon

God bless & let's make it happen!

Just remember to breathe when you speak with them. Ask them how they handle the situation when it is someone with a medical condition that needs the power to run their equiptment... While I was in law school, my husband and I were struggling (actually we still are but not that bad) and they turned our power off... we borrowed the money to get it turned back on from my mother in law (she's the best) but they refused to expidite turning it back on... so, knowing that they have to do something for people with medical conditions, my husband said that I couldn't be without the air conditioner because of my asthma... they came out right away and turned it back on... in your situation, they might have to put you up in a hotel until they get it fixed. The thing is, you do have to have an actual condition. But, the point is, you could harass them by saying something like you had to bring your sick child to a hotel and who is going to pay for that?
