Thursday was my first day back at work after vacation. It wasn't bad, it was kind of quiet and slow, the calm before the storm; Friday was the first of the month again so things were crazy. People are already starting back to school shopping , so it's been a busier than usual first week of the month.
Sunday I worked a 12-9 shift, after working til 11pm the night before, so I didn't get a workout in. Yesterday was 9-5. I intended to do a workout when I got home, but I ended up getting home too late, wet and tired! Guess I better explain that one, lol!
After work I got my hair cut at the salon in the store. It's in kind of a layered bob now, about chin length in front, and shorter in the back. The stylist also showed me how to back comb where I have this awful cowlick to cover it up and add some volume; I tried it today and I am pleased that I was able to replicate it myself. The secret to doing it with fine hair is to use some freeze spray on it first. I was glad she showed me how, I could never make it work before. I asked my mom to bring her digital camera over when she picks me up for my appointment today to take some pics of my hair so I will post them later.
It was raining hard when I done and was leaving the store, a very heavy downpour. I didn't want to ruin my freshly blow dried hair so I bought a cheap umbrella to get to my car. I still ended up with my pants and shoes and socks soaked. I still had to stop for groceries before I went home, but I sat in the car for about 20 minutes after I got there before I went in, waiting for the rain to let up a bit. It still didn't feel very good to walk through the store in wet pants, and it was cold when I was in the dairy and frozen sections. By the time I got home it was after 7pm, and once I got the groceries put away and had some dinner, I was too wiped out to work out.
I have my Zometa and Faslodex at 2pm today, so that means I have to get the stuff done I want to do before I go, since I won't feel good after. A friend gave me some cucumbers and zuchinni from her garden, so this morning I got the zuchinni ready for the freezer, and used most of the cucumbers to make some refrigerator pickles.
I also bought chicken last night; I am trying a new recipe where you bake it in packets with seasonings and veggies; I have two packets ready to bake later on tonight, one for dinner, and one I will save for another dinner in a day or two. I try to have something ready to eat or heat up on my treatment days; it helps to know that even though I will be tired and not feeling great, I have something good for dinner to look forward too.
I also got in a 30 minute workout; did part of a Leslie Sansone 4 mile DVD.
