I'm back.....again

Tuesday, August 05, 2008

It's been several months since my last blog entry. Life has been happening at a rather frantic pace. So here's an update to my Jan. 25 MIA entry:

In early February, I started in individual therapy to deal with some issues from my childhood that I never dealth with previously, which were seriously affecting my marriage.

DH & I started marriage counseling in March. We committed to working things out and I'm happy to report that we have a totally changed marriage. Thanks to wonderful friends and family who continued to pray for us, God has restored our marriage to a better than new condition. The intimacy between us is better than ever, we are communicating more than ever before without fighting, there is peace in our home for the first time in years. We are falling in love with each other all over again!! We will truly be able to "celebrate" 10 years of marriage on August 15th!

In early June, my son had to have tubes put in his ears to get rid of a very serious ear infection which was very resistant to all the medication we tried. He had the infection, fever & pain for almost a month before we could get things worked out. I was so stressed with that situation that I started vomiting blood. Not sure if it was just stress or that combined with a slew of medications I'm on. I had outpatient surgery to determine the cause. They found nothing. Added 2 more medications.

July brought a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and bursitis. I feel like I am constantly in pain. Started another 3 medicatons bringing the total daily medications to 9! That is just totally outrageous. No wonder my stomach is in such turmoil all the time. But, when they added the latest 3, one is a steroid, which has me gaining weight like I've never seen -- 12 lbs in the past month. I feel bloated and miserable all the time.

Thank goodness for a child who wakes up in the morning and says, "Mommy, it's a sunny day. Let's walk round and round the block. I need to exercise." Now I just need to take him up on that every morning.

Today is the first day since January that I have logged any food entries. Here's to a re-motivated me.

You have really been through the ringer since January! My husband and I went through a difficult time when my kids were little and we actually separated and then went through marriage counceling to restore our family. I love marriage counceling. It was a life saver.
I wrote you a message on one of your march blogs. I am hoping that you get it because I need some help for a friend of mine. If you can't help her or don't have time, could you see if one of your friends on the adoption team could help her out? I would really appreciate it.
I hope you are feeling better soon. I will be praying for your recovery.

Kim

I'm so glad to see you! and to hear that things have improved. I'm sorry to hear about Caleb's ear infections and your multiple halth issues. Hopefully, you've seen some improvement since the tubes were put in and your new medications began. I've had three kids who needed the tubes and all three had speech delays as a result of their hearing distortion, so keep an ear out for that. Chica, I'm so glad to see you again. You are an amazingly brave woman to confront those issues you mentioned and the renewed health of your marraige and family is well deserved. Best of luck for your continued success along the journey.
emoticon Back! I missed you!
