I was posting a comment on the message boards about how I splurged yesterday because it was my anniversary. As I was typing it I realized something... I thought I was really treating myself to celebrate by cheating on my diet and eating a lot of unhealthy food. Really, I was just cheating myself, not treating myself! I was cheating myself out of achieving my goals, cheating myself out of being healthy, cheating myself out of success, and cheating myself out of feeling better about myself. Sure, you don't have to be perfect all the time but did I really have to eat bread, cheese and crackers, a taste of a crab cake, some kind of potato pizza with cheese appetizer, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, and two cupcakes!!! Yeah, I treated myself alright... I treated myself to another 5 lbs. and bigger pant size! When you cheat you really do only cheat yourself!

I obviously realize that this blog was made a long, l-o-n-g time ago, but am wondering if you still feel the same way re splurging? It comes across as tho' you think that that splurge on one day is going to cause you to gain 5lb. 5lb in weight means that you would have to eat 17,500 calories IN EXCESS of what your body needs. I sort of wonder if you have a Disordered Eating condition??
