I feel like my life is a revolving door

Monday, July 28, 2008

Anyone else feel that way?

Mon-Wed, get up go to work, come home. Thursday, go to work, come home, prepare for ____ (meeting, drill, etc). Friday, go to work, come home, go to the squad, run duty. Saturday come home from the squad, try to sleep, clean and have a life. Sunday, go to squad, come home. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Throw a husband in there once in awhile and that is my life.

The class I am taking will break that up but I feel like it's summer vacation and dangit, I should be sleeping in and playing outside all day! YES I want to be 7 again. I want my biggest decision to be which horse I ride, help my dad around the barn, avoid my mother and play in the woods.

This is probably caused by the fact that in July every person in my office EXCEPT ME gets to go spend at least one week at the beach. Now it all just works out that way, they didn't all coordinate their beach trips on purpose but still...every Monday I hear "The beach was so fun!!" and I want to stab someone with a paper clip. Can you say jealous? That's me!

I'm off to go find some kids sand box to sit in...

As I put the liquid fabric softener on the clothes, closed the washer, and poured the detergent into the fabric softener ball.....I realized maybe I should have taken a vacation!

But I have a work trip. At least it will be different. If my clothes make it.

I can totally relate. I get sooo tired of the daily grind sometimes. DH and I even have a saying "Get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, get up, go to work...." Etc, etc, etc....

I love summer and I just want to be able to enjoy it instead of spending all my waking hours inside doing mundane every day things.

I swear I would love to just take off to Hawaii for a couple of months, live on the beach and just be a total bum. Being a grown up sucks sometimes. emoticon
