Had a lovely time with family this weekend and saw people I haven't seen in 4 years + some newborn offspring which was great. My aunt had prepared lots of food of course, but most of it was pretty healthy stuff like salads, seafood, grilled lean pork etc. so Friday was completely fine and I did well with portion control.

Saturday was another thing, didn't want to say no to the waffle and ice cream and I ate about 300 kcal above my range as a guesstimate when I tried to log my food back home again. I forgive myself and move on, but I need to come up with some way of getting myself to DO my strength workouts more consistently. I KNOW it'll help me, I just can't seem to GET IT DONE. Duh. Feeling really stupid about it too. I've asked my dearest to help me by nagging at me on "strength days".

We went for a swim - my first dip in the ocean this year and very nice it was too. And had waffles at J's aunt, and my mother-in-law served cakes and ice cream which I also had small portion of.
Today was another jogging day and I have the second day of week 4 under my belt now. Damn hot and sticky when I got back.

It's back to work tomorrow for four days, then I have another fourteen days vacation coming up!

strength training is my biggest weakness too, it wasn't until my dh stopped asking and went all drill sarge on my (he has never been in the military mind you, just watches too many movies!) and started watching me do it.. he also can tell me if I am doing it wrong..definitely no cheating ..(not his choice of words to use..but this is a family site )
Maybe that might work for you?

either way, I think you're doing great!

It sounds like you are having a great time with family. I am maintaining my strength training routine by taking group classes. It helps that all I have to do is follow the instructor. Have a great work week, then enjoy your long vacation!

I don't like strength training either, but I really don't love any exercise...I have to make myself do it. I sure have seen a difference in my weight loss since I started strength training 6 days a week. I alternate Lower body with Core and Upper body. It tkaes only about 15-20 minutes, but is proving to be well worth it. Enjoy your second vacation. Doing anything special?

MAN! 14 days vacation! That's awesome!

I'm glad you liked Sophie's letter to Jake on Lab Lover's page. Jake wrote her back, so she wrote again.

Ha, you were 300 over on your calories? One time I was 2000! THAT was a bad day! But it was also a long time ago, which is good.

I'm really proud of you for doing the C25K program! I'm with you. I can't stand doing strength training, even when I'm NOT injured. I bet there's something out there about doing strength training that's not the traditional lift weights repeatedly in the gym. That just bores me SENSELESS! I can't even encourage OTHERS to do it, it's so boring. :)

Hope you have a great week. Cya around! Only 20 more days until my students start arriving. Maybe you could pop over to Finland and check out Sofia for me, see if she's a good girl. Heehee. You DO have 14 days off, don't you?
