So Discouraged

I am so discouraged today. I thought that I would lose a few pounds quickly when I first started and then plateau, but that hasn't been what has happened at all.

I've gone from drinking a 2-liter of Mtn. Dew a day to drinking 64+oz of water.
I've cut out my morning drive to McDonald's for a sausage biscuit.
I've limited the nights that I'm allowed to have alcohol.
I've started excersizing for 1/2 an hour every day.

What do I have to show for it? I've gained .2 lbs. That would be ok if it was one of those "muscle weighs more than fat" things... but my clothes aren't fitting any better so that can't be it... I feel much better and I know that I'm developing good habits, so I'm not ready to give up yet, but if I'm destined to be this size, I'm gonna drink Mtn. Dew!!!

  Suggestion: Instead of getting on the scale try keeping a weekly log of your inches. Measure your waist, hip and thigh. Make sure to do this weekly and keep a record. You'll see the inches come off and it'll boost your mood. Consider weighing yourself once a month. Once you start to see inches coming off you'll want to see your weight.
Stick with it ;)
Mtn. Dew has like a zillion empty calories, right? How about drinking Crystal Light Lemon-Lime instead?
Don't give up, we all fall short of our goals sometimes. The trick is to get back on track and don't beat yourself up over it.

    I am sure it is water weight you gained. It takes 2 weeks before you can get discouraged. Don't go back to the soda. It is bad for you and a waste of calories!! Keep it up. Stay away from fast food 100% and track everything you eat. Stay within your calorie and fat intake and excercise 35-60 minutes every other day. You can do it. It is a lifestyle change not a diet!

    How long has it been since you started to make changes? It takes a while for your body to get the clue. Are you staying in your calorie range? Is your sodium level out of line? Sometimes I get frustrated with two or three weeks of nothing, and then blammo! I've lost 5 pounds. Keep doing the right things for your body and I promise you will have something to show for it.
