Recently I have had alot of young teenage Latina gay girls around me. They seem so happy to be around me and happy that I'm Mexican and gay and not sold out. I see them mimick me, observe me. They seem proud and amused that I am outspoken, strong, funny. They don't care about what I look like. I could tell that I make them feel loved, protected, and like they have someone in there corner. They are curious about my personal life. About my relationship. My fights. My apartment. My job. My family. My childhood.
Being a "role model" to them makes me want to improve myself, my body image, self-esteem, jealousy issues, health issues. I want them to see how you can change your situation. To have a real example of someone exactly like them making it.
Its been a special week. They gave me more than I gave them.
