Our adorable little smiling sweet pea Sophie finally had to be put down the Tuesday before July 4th. I'm still not dealing with it too well, even though we knew she wouldn't be with us long due to her liver condition. She was so full of life, incredibly intelligent, and actually looked like she was smiling at times - hence the picture included with this blog post. I will miss her bounding down the hall to my bedroom and thudding into my bedroom door with her paws every morning, and snuggling in with her for a few brief moments. She had this way of cocking her head with certain names - almost parallel to the floor when I'd mention Mom or Dad. She'd also nose her sister Belle if Belle wasn't behaving when it was time to put the leashes on to go outside. Our little peanut Belle is hanging in there really well, but sure does miss Sophie an awful lot. I like to think that she has a very personal guardian angel puppy looking out for her.
We miss you Sophie.
