Message In A Bottle

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

I am new to blogging as this is only my 2nd one. But loyalty to my team the Wild Wahinis runs deep!

Spark People has allowed me to stay true to my commitment of being positive. So often my day surrounds me with such negativity. Not just the office pettiness but I see referrals on many kids each day who are in pain and not feeling loved or wanted, who witness violence in their home and their community on a daily basis. I am good at what I do and getting resources and assistance for not only the kids but their families as well. I do not want to burn out and Spark people and the message boards help out with staying insane in such an insane world. So thank you! All of you for your funny quips as well as the kind words you share with others you do not know. It gives me hope.

When you look at such a great need and the limits of resources every day it is hard not to burn out. Hang in there, what you do is very important to those families. It takes someone with a lot of emotional fortitude to face endless need every day. You deserve an award. emoticon

You're so right - it's sad how hard it is to remain positive and how easy it can be to slip into negativity. It's a habit I'm really trying hard to break myself of!

That is some hard work you are doing. I've been there at one time, done that, and burned out and got away. Good for you for trying to keep the balancing act going.
Thank you for being a Spark in my life!

I think I hear a child protective services worker... am I right? I'm a former social worker myself, so I understand where you're coming from about the negativity and burnout. GOOD FOR YOU, for reaching out for the light instead of letting the dark overtake you! Your journey toward a healthier you will help in maintaining that attitude. Feed the attitude, it will help the health. Take care of the health, it will help the attitude. It's a win-win. emoticon And thanks, for doing the work you do.
