Weigh In Day Discouraging

So, Monday mornings are my weigh in days. For the past 4 weeks it has been all over the place. The first week I lost 6 pounds, the second week, nothing, the third week 2 pounds and this week 1. It is discouraging because I did a better job tracking my food (even the bad stuff) and worked out more days during the week. I had even found that by tracking my food there had been times where I wasn't getting enough calories for the day.

Today I am really struggling fighting off a binge/emotional eating. The thing of it is at this rate it will take me almost a year to lose 40 pounds. I know the first 6 pounds was a lot of water so truly my rate of weight loss is pretty slow.

This week I am going to increase my time on the treadmill and see if that helps make the scale jump next Monday morning. Ugh...I am just so down today. So much hard work and for what????

Well, I guess here's to a better week this week eh?

    You should be so proud of yourself, I have never (ever) lost as much as you have. I have only gained. Period. This is the best I've done, so sparks is helping to get me REAL. I am hoping to stick with it.

    Beginners luck is one thing but my plateau is coming... ugh.

    I did this last month, I had a couple of sweet drinks, (sugar makes me gain water weight for some reason), and the scales were off because of my water weight, I got all depressed, and almost threw it all out the window, I lost it for a few weeks, (I am an emotional eater too), luckily my SP buddies helped me to bounce back, but the whole turn of events was useless, it was just over a few water weight pounds, that I would have most likely lost in a day or so, and I let it get to me, turns out I lost almost 7 inches last month, so I was doing something right...
    Sorry I can be long winded, but I do have a point, point is, we are women, water weight don't just happen at the beginning, or during TOM, it can happen anytime, for no known reason, as long as you know you are doing right, don't be so relying on the scales, they can be misguiding... go by what you feel, if your still feeling right, and good about what your doing, it's ok, the pounds will come off eventually, and sometimes when were losing inches, we may not be showing much pound loss, the body is weird that way, hang in there, you can do this, don't let the depressing binge eating get to you.
    A fellow DONE girl said today in her blog, and I love it...
    "This time next year, I'll be glad I didn't quit today."

    A little bit is much better than none at all or a gain. Think positive and make it happen. You are doing the right thing here. Just be consistent and make what you eat and what you do count! Do not give up now and once you get going and get in the hang on things it will be no biggie at all:) You can do it!!

    Don't be discouraged. Remember, this is a life long quest. I have to remind myself it's not the weight that counts; it's the changes in my life for the rest of my life. The weight WILL come off. If it's slow, well that's good because then it will be that much harder to put back on.

    If I may offer a personal opinion, I don't believe in denying myself the things I love. If I want pizza one day then I will work in pizza (a moderate serving and within my calorie range.) Always denying yourself is not the answer - not for me anyway.

    I know how you feel, but don't forget this is a journey, not a destination. If it takes a year to lose 40 pounds, that's ok. If you give up, a year from now you'll wish you'd lost those 40 pounds! That's what I have to tell myself. I get mad for having gained so much and having such a long way to go, but what's my alternative? I'll just keep gaining if I don't make changes. Hang in there! We're here for you!

    I think everyone can totally understand what your going through. It is very discouraging and attempting to fight off the binge emotional eating is a struggle for sure. What I do is just think to myself that if I binge eat I will be further away from my goal. You are doing the right things and the results will pay off as long as you stay strong!
