Does it count for the challenge if you eat your fruit cooked? Like maybe in a nice Carmel Apple Cinnamon Muffin from Panera? I though not. Ahhh well.
My coworkers have all gone crazy one bring gobs of little Hershey's chocolates that she keeps in a giant jar so we can all partake every time we pass her station. She refills it regularly. Great she sits right outside my office. Yesterday one guy brought in the most yummy looking sinful pastries form Panera. I got through that mess only to get to work today to find a fresh box of equally delicious Panara pastries! This is crazy. I have to work here why do people do this It is not as if they are all in need of the calories. Trust me they need them less than I do.
I think that the people who buy and bring in food do so to relieve their own guilt. You see if they buy it for the whole office it is a kind, selfless act and of course they can then eat the artery clogging, fat building treats without impunity!
I have told them all don't bring junk in. Ya wanna share bring fruit, bring veggie platters, bring individual servings of light fat free yogurt anything healthy. But alas they don't get it. They laugh at me and delight in trying to tempt me, then they marvel at my will power or mock me if I have a chocolate.
It is all about the miles though. I tell them even if I indulge I run it off. Look at it this way I know from years of tracking that 1 mile run at about 8-9 minute pace burns about 100 calories for me. So if i eat that yummy thing i will have to run anywhere from 5-7 miles to work it off. I want to eat the Pastry cos they are good but I have to think twice about whether or not I can fit the extra miles in!
