Getting Started

Well, today is the first official "day" of this. I tried WW and altho I like it, I don't have the time to count how many points I"m eating. I hope this is helpful and not overwhelming as that was.

At this point in my life, I will admit I'm very frustrated. I know it has only been 2 months since I've had Liam, but it is so discouraging to see people who have lost ALL of their baby weight in a month's time. I hate the fact that nothing fits, or that my kids innocently ask why I still have a "belly" without a baby inside.

The hardest thing is that today we are taking family portraits and I have nothing to wear. I went to WalMart last night to try and find SOMETHING, but nothing works. Either too tight, too baggy, no shape to it...

I've gotten so discouraged that I was tempted to take something OTC for weight loss. I had tried medicine in the past (Slim Quick??) and it didn't work well. It worked for a while, but once I weaned myself off the old weight gain came back. I want to try to do this the healthy way, by eating right and exercise.

So, here I go!!! Wish me luck!!

    Oh, Hon, I know how you feel after having five children. BUT, just stay with it. I had one family picture I took when my kids were all small and I was 214# and my brother said after I sent him one of the pictures "Lord, you look awful." I did. But, I couldn't stay on a diet and lose! Not until I found SPARKPEOPLE 8 months ago.

It is possible.

I'm reading "I CAN MAKE YOU THIN" by Paul McKenna, who has a TV show in England. I listen to his hypnosis CD every day. He has clips on YouTube. Do check him out. There is a ICMYT Sparkteam, too.

    Good luck! I know you can do it!

I found SparkPeople just a few weeks ago, myself. I really like it here. There are some very friendly people out there in SparkLand.

Join some of the SparkTeams and dive right in. I'm really enjoying getting on-line everyday to track my progress. And the combination of venues this site provides seems to have really hit a positive cord with me. I am finding that I really enjoy the "blog" part, too.

I wish you the best in your progress. And remember, weight management isn't a contest. It's a personal goal. Try not to compare yourself with others. Just do what is best for you.

If you ever need support, you will definitely find it here. We are all just a mouse click away!
