Over the last several months, I have been feeling very tired. My energy has been very low. My workouts have suffered a bit. I once faithfully worked out 6 days a week, but, even though I've been working out with my friend, I've gone through stages where I could only workout 3 or maybe 4 days. And I've been experiencing periods of malaise that I couldn't explain. I have also been messing up on little details at work because I can't concnetrate.

I thought, maybe I need more sleep or a change of scenery or workouts. It helped, but I still got those feelings and was still very tired after working out. So, during a routine checkup, I have found out what my problem is: I have anemia. I'm going back for more tests and a nutrition consult. The funny thing is, I wouldn't have gone for the blood work if I wasn't going to refill my prescription drugs.

So, if any of you experiences symptoms of malaise, fatigue, or poor concentration that you can't explain, even if you think you are eating healthy, still check with your doctor. I eat plenty of high iron foods (love broccoli and raisins), but my diet may still be missing what I need. Don't put yourself on the back burner! Get checked out.

On to better news, I finally completed my last speech for level one in Toastmasters! I am now a Competent Communicator. They loved my speech last night and it was the first one I did without notes or standing behind the podium. Yea me! I'm also going through a bunch of my workouts and deciding which to put up for sale. I'm in a purging stage, and I'm still clearing out clothes and fitness DVDs.

    So glad you know what the problem is, nothing like not feeling well and in the dark about what the cause might be. Congrats on doing your thing! emoticon . Public speaking, wow I would love to do that, you go girl...what is a toastmaster?

    Girl, get some iron tablets! Like I said in the thread, I was craving ice 24/7 and I'm not an ice eater so that's how I knew something was wrong.
I hope you like organ meats(liver-chicken or beef, gizzards, that kind of thing) because they're high in iron and also kale and spinach which I love.
Pass that purging urge on to me please! I've got a bunch of size 22s I hate to part with. So hard to say goodbye to yesterday!
