Are you writing down what you eat?

Sunday, June 15, 2008

emoticon I am back to keeping a journal on what I am eating, which has helped, this way I can see what I have been eating.

Yepitsmeh, if you have a computer at home and it will take time doing this, I have sit up food list on my computer with all the foods I like with the calories, fat, carbs, fiber & points, I have also put name brands so I know.

This way I can go on and see what the points are for a certain food, most of the time I can get it off the package, but I have had to go on line to find the calories, also you can get calorie king, which is helpfull.

I admire the way you keep the faith in yourself and keep it real with yourself in regards to food consumptions. With this kind of consideration in a healthy life style; I don't see how a person could go wrong, or even fall completely off their square.
I wish you the best in your healthy change - Keep up the good work.

I have written down everything I eat and the calories since I started my weight loss/get fit journey the beginning of 2008. It has helped me make the choices I need to keep within my caloric range and it's also like a little diary of what I am doing. I have a few places I look on line if I need to look up calories, I also have a electronic pocket food/calorie device that I can use to look up some foods. After a while though, you can just flip back to a previous day to get the calorie count on things you eat all the time. I also write down the calories I burn when I exercise too. I have a exercise heart monitor band that I wear that keeps tracks of calories burned. It is really motivational. It's kind of like having a contest with yourself.

I suggest to eveyone I know who is trying to lose weight to write down what they eat. It's sort of like having a checkbook. How can you know where you are financially if you don't keep track. You have to have some type of system to keep yourself straight, where it be food or money or whatever.
