Drama in the Dressing Room

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Oh my goodness. I just got back from shopping and I'm stunned at what I saw in the mirror. I have only been on Sparkpeople a little over a week and only recorded what I ate half the time, but I have to say I'm newly dedicated to counting my calories b/c of this experience. I picked up size 10's and 12's, expecting them to fit nicely, and everything was too small. I knew I'd gained weight recently but still wasn't expecting this. I've lost weight in the past and have always gained most of it back afterward. I realize I need to change my mindset on this and just buckle down and realize I'm not eating less for a short period, but for the rest of my life. Otherwise, this cycle will continue forever. And I'm done with it, dang it!!

Nothing like a stop in the dressing room to get you motivated! I went shopping for a dress tonight that I need for an event coming up in July. If a dress fit well on one part of my body it was too tight on another. I found a gorgeous dress that looked great except for rolls of fat spilling over the sides up top. Ugh! I am totally motivated to keep working on the diet though and I will hit the dressing room again in a couple of weeks.

Good luck to you on getting back on track.

YOu have to remember that isn't "losing weight" again. It won't be coming back this time, because you're done with dieting. This is, as you said, a lifestyle. You ARE doing it all ready just by making healthier choices, like by posting here in your blog instead of freaking out and getting upset with yourself.

Good luck, and if you need help just holler!

I know the feeling! And it is motivating. I also know about going on a dieting, losing weight, attempting to incorporate healthy eating into your every day life, and regaining weight. For me, it was not because I wasn't eating healthy, it was because although I was eating healthy, I still had an unhealthy relationship with food.

But you can do this, it takes a little work at first, but it CAN be done. You too can be a DONE girl. :-D
