Choosing Gratitude

Come home to the heart of yourself. If you're having trouble being grateful today, stop for a moment and be grateful for your next breath. It's often as simple as that.

What can you do when someone is coming after you with "sword" in hand and you're being triggered? Here is a three-step formula to train yourself to remain present and respond from a state of loving consciousness. Try it.

Step 1. GIVE THANKS: for having awareness of what's going on, for the fact that you're choosing the highest response. Give thanks for remembering to step out of the story and not letting your emotional body drive you. This awareness is PRESENCE.

Step 2. ASK LOVE: What's the wisdom here? What's the message for you? You're asking Spirit or an angel or your intuition for guidance. Spirit steps in and quickly shows you what's yet to be healed in you.

Step 3. GO GRATITUDE: Go forward as best you can with no expectation of how the future is supposed to unfold. You can step out of the way. You can train yourself to let gratitude be your reflection to the world around you.

It is a powerful exercise to become proficient in, because it helps us move from the past into the present and then onward.
