I remember Mom

Sunday, May 11, 2008

I was blessed with a wonderful caring Mom. She lived a long life passing away at 91 years, but was still a vital, fun lady to the end. She has been gone just over 5 years now, but I still miss her so very much.

Now I'm the matriarch of the family & I'm not sure I can begin to fill her shoes even though her shoe size was smaller then mine. She left a heritage that had a lasting effect on all those who loved her. So on this day I pay tribute to Mom who I remember as having a love for God, her family, children, animals & flowers. A generous woman of great wisdom, who loved a good laugh and gave the best hugs ever! I thank my heavenly Father for giving me this great lady as my Mom. I cherish all the memories I have of her.

At her funeral all her grandchildren shared their memories of Grandma, and each one said they thought they were her favorite grandchild. That sums up just the kind of person she was. While I miss her now, I know that it isn't forever. One day we will be reunited & there will never again be the sorrow of another good bye.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. I lost my mom just under 2 years ago. It is very hard to lose a mother, but as you say we will be reunited one day. I too hope I can leave a legacy as rich, wonderful and strong as the one my own mother left us. Thanks for sharing and God Bless. emoticon

    God Bless and keep you.
