The Food Delemma

I can't believe that my biggest problem in losing weight is that I just don't eat enough. So bizarre. I get into long patterns where I barely eat one meal a day. I feel hunger pains but ignore them. I'm not doing this on purpose, I just can't find anything I want to eat.....no; I think it's more than that, but I don't really understand why I do it. Keeping a food journal just illuminates how bad I can get.

Would you believe that I don't know how to run continuous comments in my own journal? When I click 'Add a Blog Entry' it wants a new title. That confused me so I've been editing.

I still fall into the fasting pattern; I don't try to, I just naturally go there. But I'm working harder now to eat several small amounts per day. I got many, many tips from Chef Amy on the National Body Challange. She actually took the time to share advice in a blog for a few weeks. And she provided some great tips for making nutritional food tastier! I've printed them all up, I just need to put it into action. Does anyone else notice how much time I spend preparing to diet? The trouble I have is putting it all into continuous action. Scheech...

I totally understand... When I first joined SparkPeople and started counting calories, I realized I was doing those few basic things that are "bad" for my body. 1) I wasn't getting enough calories - a shocker!!! I know that everytime I think of eating, I think I "shouldn't - and if I wouldn't eat, maybe it wouldn't be counted against me! 2) I didn't eat breakfast which added to me not feeling like eating... I was DEPRIVING myself and, in effect, telling myself and my body, that I didn't even DESERVE to eat!!! 3) I didn't drink enough water - why bother if I wasn't even worthy of food! ...

Anyway, you get the idea... When I started eating more regularly - not a lot - just little things more often - I lost pounds! Amazing!

Take it easy. Slow down and think about not just WHAT you're eating, but how much, when, and how...

I don't know you well - but I love you already!

Don't let the numbers upset you to much. When I was on Atkins and in ketosis, I didn't have any appetite, so I understand how you can be that way. I'd not lose and then drop five pounds all at once. I haven't done Atkins this time, because I've wanted to lose it slowly this time, so I don't have excess skin. emoticon
