Getting Discouraged for no reason

Friday, April 18, 2008

Week before last I was getting so discouraged about staying the same then what do you know I lost 2 lbs. and last week I lost 6 lbs. Wow what a shock when I got on the scales last Saturday and saw how much weight I lost. I was so happy that my daughter said you could hear me in all the house. For the first time in a long time I was able to walk with my daughter at an art show, go home eat lunch then go to the store and walk halfway through shopping and not have to use a cart. My son had to use the cart until we bought a elliptical. My son and daughter to this to the car and I paid for the groceries that we bought. On top of that I have lost 8.5 inches all over. I am now at the point that I am having to buy new clothes and that is great. I am no longer discouraged. I am feeling pretty good and feel like I have met a mile stone for me. It has been years since I have been at this weight I am at now and I know that I will continue to loose. I can't wait until tomorrow and see if I have lost.

    Hi BFJackson,
Just never ever get discouraged, even if I eat 100% correctly, I have great weeks, less great weeks and weeks you want to toss in the rubbish bin.
In weeks we don't do so great, is usually because some foods take longer than others to digest but it doesn't mean you have done something wrong if the needle on your scales doesn't move or goes up. It just means perhaps your eating a large variety of stuff and the body has to find out how to deal with it... Hold on to these 8.5 inches and just power on no matter what the scales says. If you keep moving like the turtle against and the hare, at some stage you will be the winner!
