A Happy NOT Mothers Day

Sunday, April 13, 2008

This is too funny and i had to share... today was suppose to be cleaning day...usually it's saturday, but after the extrememly stressful week i had at work, i just took the day to rest...planing to do it today, sunday... no big deal... i usually don't do that much on sunday anyways... and the only thing on my schedule was take DD1 to get her hair colored due to a very blotched job she had done on herself...and then take her to work.... so cleaning could definately be fitted in...until last night at 9:30 when my DD2 remembered she was suppose to tell my about my oldest nieces birthday party at my moms... i begged her to tell me this was all a joke... it wasn't... uhg... she told me not to forget...she even set the reminder on my phone for me...to go off at 12 midnight emoticon so if her last minute plans didn't have me wanting to tie her up and lock her in a closet...lol... the midnight alarm would... it takes me forever to get back to sleep...as it did last night... so as i'm pouring coffee down my throat this morning trying to wake up and thinking about those smart animals that eat their young before they get to be teenagers...lol... said daughter yells from her bed, mom, come here.... come on kid...please tell me you are kidding... so i get up to see what she wants... to which she says "Happy Mothers Day mommy" aaawwww... how sweet...except....it's not mothers day...of course she has to argue about it...lol... i explain that mothers day isn't until May..of course...at this point, i am doubting my own words... after all..i haven't had a good 8 hours sleep for weeks now...maybe i am delerious... she then asks well then who's birthday is on mothers day...to which i reply...the youngest niece??? oooohhhh... ok... well good...the DD2 replies..cause we didn't get ya anything anyways...at this point...i just shake my head...and laugh... here all this time, i thought i was the one losing my mind, but here to find out, it's my DD2 who has lost hers.

What a nice mistake. To get Mother's Day wrong and early. That's nice. So what did she plan for mother's day for you. Was there a present? I know she should do all that house cleaning you won't have time for. Fat chance on that one eh? My friends boy is 18 now and heading off and she's ready. i think that teenagers get progressively more awful so when it's time for them to go, you can have a heart to PUSH them out the door as is appropriate.

OMG, too funny! Good thing you are writing this all down, so you have lots of stuff to remind them of when they get to be parents!

Your blogs get me giggling and remembering the good old days when my kids were still in the house and not quite self sufficient yet. Never enough sleep and always changing plans at the last minute. Those were the days! I don't necessarily miss them but I wouldn't go back and change it for the world! I did have days where I thought about moving out of the house into a little apartment to escape but I never did. emoticon

What a delightful story....having 2 sons, 1 daughter in law + a girlfriend on the scene, and a collection of nieces&nephews....I relate to this soooo well. I also had a good chuckle re the bit about "eating yr young" I can just imagine them in a pot boiling along with leeks and potato's....but in the end we also agree that our kids are the spice of life and the twinkle in our eyes. My sons are grown men and still keep me smiling and enjoying their music. Have a great day!
