So, I really hate the gym, always have, always stuck it out though to burn calories when I was trying to lose weight. Did I mention I always hated it???? So now that I have decided to make this a lifestyle, I just couldn't stand the thought of spending that much time in a gym but I also don't want to head into the rest of my life this out of shape.
I started thinking about what I enjoyed doing as a kid for exercise. My favourite things were always swimming and riding my bike. I had already incorporated the swimming into my exercise regime a couple of weeks ago, but a bike? It has been more than 30 yrs since I have ridden and the thought was really intimidating. Ok, I was scared. I also thought about my fat butt riding around but then realized that it sure isn't getting any thinner sitting on it! Yesterday, DH and I went and bought me a bike. I got on and almost fell off but I tried again. I got to peddling and almost slammed into an RV on my first attempt at turning so, I tried again. And again. Today I went on a 2.5 mile ride which almost killed me but, it was so much fun!!
I am going out tomorrow to get streamers for my handlebars so I can revel in my refound childhood. It might just be better the second time around,,, Lizzy
