Well, I have managed to hurt myself in a way that may derail my running for a long time. Three weeks ago, a terrible pain crept into my hip that forced me to stop running. It is finally much better, though I feel twinges now and then. However, the very second I start to run, it comes screaming back. It is hip bursitis. I bought a spinning bike and that seems to help with the more vigorous exercise but I am not really a bike person. It is very painful in my lower quads. But, I do what I can. I replaced running with fast walking...5mph intervals... and hill...15% incline intervals. I am not burning the calories I want but it will have to suffice for now. I never thought I would miss running this much!
