I haven't written in a long time, but just wanted to say that I am doing fantastic with my fitness goals. I started this around Mid February and have not only achieved my goals but am continuing to maintain my desired weight.
At first, it was a little trying, monitoring and counting my calories, but it has gotten to be second nature and I can pretty much size the calories in food up just by looking at the dish. I have made small changes dining out at restaurants that are extremely effective.
Last night I had a large burrito at my favorite Mexican restaurant. But, instead of ordering it fully loaded with Chicken , beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, and sauce ( as it was on the menu), I had them make it without the rice, sour cream, and cheese and ordered the sauce on the side effectively making it a healthy dinner and shaving off hundreds of calories. This works at Taco Bell too. Order everything "Fresco" style and shave off a couple hundred calories and turn fast food into healthy fast food.
Anyway, I still chart what I eat daily. I carry a pocket diet diary with me everywhere so I am accountable for what I eat. I also weigh myself daily which I think is extremely important in maintaining your weight. You can lie to yourself, but the scale won't lie. If I see that I gained a pound from a heavy day of eating, I lose it immediately the next day by cutting back.
I also satisfy my cravings. If I crave something, I eat it. There is no use thinking about something all day and wishing you could have it. That only causes you to overeat it when you finally do get it. I just keep my house stocked with my favorites ( which currently is chocolate filled easter eggs, and Godiva of course!)
I also keep my set goals of exercise and mix it up between spin classes, elliptical, and running, along with weights at least 3 times a week. It is important to have set days you plan to do things. It keeps you on a consistent plan.
