March has been a very trying month. There have been lots of interruptions to routine that make it hard to track food, as well as a few weeks of feeling very poorly. On top of that, we had record snowfall here and the snowbanks in front of my house are 8 feet tall. Sidewalks were covered in ice after a few mild days, and walking outside has been very treacherous. It has been really hard to stay motivated and feel like I'm making progress.
Oddly enough, I am feeling highly motivated despite all the difficulties, and am expecting that April will bring lots of new opportunities to exercise (it will be WAY easier to walk the dogs, for one thing!).
Assessing the month to date, I am pleased to say that I have lost 5 pounds, which feels great. The bad part is that I lost the same 2 twice, and only lost one new one. The month isn't quite over yet, so I hope that I'll get one more new one off before next Tuesday.
The pattern seems to be that I hit a new low, then gain a pound per day for a few days (what's with THAT?!!), and then slowly lose again to return to the low. Sometimes I bounce twice before getting back to the low... it all depends on how many unusual events there have been, like birthdays, restaurant meals, etc. I just have to be good at bouncing back into the routine.
