3/12/2008 Taking it one day at a time.

"A book is written one page at a time,
A journey is taken one step at a time,
Our lives are lived one day at a time,
Make your goals attainable,
Small goals build upon themselves and turn into big achievements.

Sometimes I become frustrated when I think about the big #'s of pounds I must shed and feel that I will never get there. Part of me wants to see fast results like you see on Biggest Loser but the other part of me knows that is unrealistic. I have attempted the weightloss journey before but never really committed myself 100% and I would just give up completely. Part of me really had not yet comprehended what losing weight really means which is lifetime long lifestyle changes and not temporaritly food restrictions and exercise. We are not here to simply lose weight. We are here to transform and change our entire life. But this takes patience, and alot of work not only physically but emotionally too. I for one cannot make 1 week committments, I can only take it ONE DAY AT A TIME. Hoping that each new day I am still possessing my enthusiasm and motivation to get me through the day. I am happy to have found SP when I did because I have come this far because of them. I am more focused on what I need to do but I still have alot of work and alot to learn but I am hanging on to SP and trying to stay active daily here to make my days go faster and to stay enthusiastic about this hard journey. Along the way I hope to drag with me towards the road of recovery whoever comes in front of me.

Let us use everything that SP has to offer for our benefit and to help others like us.

    What an amazing reflection!

I completely agree with you that SP really encourages you to view the changes we are making a a lifestyle change - not a temporary fix! And i am so thankful that i have taken it slow and done it the "right way." And it feels so good to tell people that you achieved your success doing it the "right way."

WTG on all your hard work and achievements you have experienced so far! Keep up the great work and exemplary attitude!

I love your quote today. I also related to your frustration, I fluctuate between wanting quick results and being thankful for slower progress (which allows me to fully adapt as I change).
