From 20W to 14W in one year

I just ordered a new dress. (in the link)
I am one of many teachers being honored at a service award dinner in ten days. And I just don't own a dress appropriate for the occasion. I've ordered a few dresses and sent them back - mostly because my 53 yr old body doesn't fit into an empire-waisted dress designed for a 20 yr old. Body parts succumb to gravity after a while, you know?
So I found a dress I love, and ordered a 14W. And part of me was bummed at needing a 14W, which I know will fit perfectly - because I don't like that "W" at the end. It denotes old, and chubby, and thick-waisted, and low boobage.
But then it dawned on me. Two or three years ago, I was attending another awards banquet. And I bought another black silk chiffon dress. And looked great in it. But that one was a 20W. Or maybe a 22W. At this point, I don't even remember. All I know is that I gave it away months ago, because after one year at SparkPeople, that dress didn't fit. It hung on me like curtains and drapes. It was obviously HUGE.
So what if I'm a 14W right now? I may never be a 10 (my goal). I may always have problems finding age appropriate dresses in our youth-obsessed society.
But I am SMALLER! I am HEALTHIER! I am ACTIVE! I am training for a half marathon next month (albeit with an injured foot from the training). I am HAPPIER!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to ROCK that 14W dress and be the HOTTEST teacher at the banquet!!!!!
So thank you, SparkPeople - losing 45 lbs and 3 (or is it 4?) dress sizes in one year is an accomplishment!! And THAT deserves as big an award as teaching for 20 years!
