It's "Spring Forward" again - and I sprung....for a walk.
In order to protect my knees and hips, I'm trying to mix the surfaces. I'm doing some walking on concrete, since all of the 5K, 10K, and half-marathons seem to be on concrete or asphalt. The blisters from practicing on dirt and "competing" on some other surface are just not worth it.
At the beginning of my walk today, I met Mrs. Finder who was trying to walk her dog, Reno. Reno probably weighs more than Mrs. Finder. She has developed diabetes and has gone from a plump grandmotherly type to a slender grandmotherly type. we walked together for a time, then she went home and I went on.
